We have received the following information from the Berlin state authorities today:
In order to contain the pathogen SARS-CoV-2 ("Corona virus"), considerable restrictions have been decided nationwide. This also affects the Berlin State Office for Immigration (LEA) and the Berlin Business Immigration Service (BIS).
Until further notice, no more runner customers will be summoned and served in Berlin. Likewise, from now on no new applications will be accepted. The documents submitted to the BIS until then will be processed and scheduled by us.
Please inform your employees that it is no longer possible to visit the BIS or the State Office for Immigration without an appointment (e.g. to pick up electronic residence permits and blue cards).
We are currently investigating which other federal states are closing their foreigners authorities in whole or in part, and where applications are still being accepted.
There is currently no entry ban for travellers from China or other countries in Germany. Travellers from China, South Korea, Japan, Iran and Italy are obliged to provide information on their flight and whereabouts on exit cards within 30 days of landing. Information on symptoms and risk exposure can also be recorded for travellers. Persons who are conspicuous can be further questioned and, if necessary, examined. Depending on the risk assessment for Germany, further possible measures will be jointly examined on an ongoing basis.
For planned assignments or hirings to Austria:
Currently all visa offices of Austrian embassies worldwide are closed. We will inform you immediately as soon as the consulates accept visa applications again.
In the event that employees from outside EU have already been granted a RWR card or any other kind of residence permit and are allowed to enter without a visa, this is currently only possible to a limited extent. In individual cases, we are examining the possibility of entry.
For all those employees who are only allowed to enter with a D visa to pick up their residence permit in Austria, entry is currently not possible.
USA have closed the Consular Service in Vienna.
Within Europe, the borders in the following countries have been closed and can only be passed with a special permit or verifiable justification (relatives in need of care, work, business trip):
Italy, Spain, France, Austria, Germany (southern border Bavaria-Austria), Luxembourg, Poland, Czech Republic, other countries will follow!
