Minimizing Costs Without Losing Quality
At some point, almost every business needs to relocate an employee at the company’s expense. Companies relocate employees for many reasons: to move an employee to an office where her particular skills are needed; to support the hiring process when a new employee is not where the company would like him to be; to expose an employee to a particular business activity or function; and to support a company move of a facility or operation to a new location.
For most companies, even large ones, relocation is not an everyday activity. Nevertheless, when the need arises, it becomes extremely important to complete the task quickly and efficiently so that employees can be productive at their new location. This is the primary reason why corporations typically outsource the relocation process to a Relocation Management Company (RMC). Therefore, the fundamental value-add of an RMC is to minimize the downtime and costs of the relocation
Relocation is Complex, Time-Critical, and Expensive
Complex: International Employee relocation can involve any or all of the following: selling a home, buying a home, renting an apartment, exploring a new area, finding schools for children, moving and storing household goods, locating temporary housing, travelling to and from the new location.
HR mostly faces the need to comply with immigration rules, local HR regulations, tax and social insurance systems.
Time-Critical: Employers typically want newly hired or relocated employees at their new jobs as soon as possible. Therefore, it is imperative that all necessary relocation activities must be completed in a compressed time period.
Personal: Employee relocation crosses into an employee’s personal life. A move usually involves a spouse, partner, or family. It requires that the relocating employee make important personal decisions in response to business demands.
Expensive: Relocation can be expensive. The EUROPEAN Relocation Association reported that the average cost for relocation of a 1. and 2. Tear Manager can sum up between 75.000 up to 150.000 EUR. Importantly, these are out-of-pocket costs to the employer and do not include employee down time.

Permanent Immigration To Austria
Austria has introduced a flexible new immigration scheme: the Red-White-Red Card. It aims to facilitate the immigration of qualified third-national professionals and their families with a view to permanent settlement in Austria, based on personal and labour-market related criteria.
The Red-White-Red Card is issued for a period of twelve months initially and entitles the holder to fixed-term settlement and employment by a specified employer. It can be prolonged easily after one year.
The following persons are eligible for a Red-White-Red Card:
- very highly qualified workers
- skilled workers in shortage occupations
- other key workers
- graduates of Austrian universities and colleges of higher education
- self-employed key workers
Permanent Immigration To Germany
Similar to the Green Card in the USA, the German Blue Card offers highly educated skilled professionals of Non-EU-States the opportunity and the right to work and stay in Germany. The Blue Card Germany is a work and residence Permit for specific purposes; it provides an evidence for the legal stay of a citizen from a Non-EU-country in Germany for the purpose of working.
People who are entitled to the Blue Card Germany are the following:
- University graduates
A pre-condition for of the Blue Card is a university degree as well as a work-contract with a gross salary of at least € 46.400.
- Highly qualified
An even lower salary border of € 38.688 applies for highly qualified people in shortage occupations. These jobs are mainly engineers, academics and similar skilled workers in the information and communication fields, as well as doctors. A pre-condition proof is not necessary unless the working conditions are similar. In jobs where there is a so-called “special interest of Non- EU- citizens” the salary border is lower. For receiving the Blue Card as a mathematician, scientist, engineer, doctor or IT-skilled worker there is a gross salary border of € 38.688 per year.
